The Birmingham Great Run will be taking place on Sunday 1 May 2016.  There will, as a result, be significant alteration and disruption for traffic moving through the city centre.

The route will start on Jennens Road and the course follows a route along the Pershore Road to the south of the city to Edgbaston cricket ground before returning via Edgbaston to the finish in Broad Street.

Various traffic restrictions will be in operation for the event.  In summary, Granville Street (Broad Street to Tennant Street) will be subject to no vehicle access between midday on Saturday 30th April 2016 until approximately 6pm on Sunday 1st May 2016 to allow for the provision of event infrastructure.

All other traffic restrictions will apply on Sunday 1st May 2016 only with closures being implemented in phases between 00.30 hours to 09.30 hours and removed in phases between 12.30 hours and 17.00 hours
