Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that the UK’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has been extended until October with employees continuing to get up to 80% of their monthly wages up to £2,500. This applies to all sectors and regions of the UK.

Some additional changes have also been announced. From August, employers can ask their furloughed workers to return part-time. These employers will be asked to pay a percentage towards their part-time employees’ wages, giving businesses the flexibility to gradually resume work.

Full details are expected to be published by the end of May. Find out more on the Job Retention Scheme here.
