Chung Ying Cantonese Restaurant

‘The Original’ Cantonese restaurant in Birmingham’s centrally located Chinatown, Chung Ying is the most famous Chinese restaurant in the West Midlands.

Take Dim Sum alfresco on the new outside decking area this summer, or eat in style under many beautiful Chinese artworks. Established in 1981, it’s won many awards including Egon Ronay and ‘Which’ Good Food Guide. Providing a lively mix of modern and mythical iconography, the interiors invite you to relax, as does the traditional Chinese music and dreamlike Oriental twangs that lull in the background. A large selection of foods plays host to all that’s exotic. the salt and pepper frogs legs especially are a novelty to be cherished and devoured as a starter washed back with warmed sake served with a friendly smile. Chung Ying is the perfect place to indulge in the vogue for all things Chinese and the all-inclusive menu reads like a fairy tale.

If you are looking for a way to get moving after a huge dinner at Chung Ying then the restaurant is only too happy to accommodate a little bit of crooning. You won’t find private Karaoke booths but if you’re heading there for a special occasion, with a big group of friends, then they are happy to organise a space for you to dance and sing at no extra cost.
